Reading the spread

The range on this page is roughly eighty to one. That is not a market where some people overcharge. It is three different products sharing one word.

Under $500 a month buys a maintained website, a managed Business Profile and a template content programme, usually shared across a large client base. Footbridge Media has run that model since 2004 at $249 with no contract, and for a single-location shop it is a real option rather than a bad one. What it does not buy is somebody thinking about your market.

$2,000 to $3,500 is where most of this list actually trades, and where a single-location operator doing $5M to $15M should expect to land. At this level you are buying a named practitioner's time: service pages, location pages, the Business Profile, links and citations, and a monthly report that a person talks you through.

Above $5,000 starts to mean several locations, several trades, or an agency with a bench you are paying to keep available. Thrive publishes bands from $5,000 to $50,000 a month, and Built-Right prices its largest plan only on request, which at that end means a franchise system rather than a contractor.

What actually moves the number

  • Locations, more than revenue. Each physical address needs its own Business Profile, its own local signals and its own reporting. TradeOps publishes this as a flat add-on of $500 a location, which is the clearest version of it on any of these sites.
  • How many towns you claim. Eleven surrounding towns from one address is a different content programme from three.
  • Whether a website is included. Several of these prices bundle a site build into the monthly fee, which lowers the headline and raises the cost of leaving. Ask which it is before comparing two quotes.
  • Service lines. Heating, cooling, indoor air quality, ductwork and commercial service are five content sets, not one.

The comparison that misleads people

Two quotes at $2,400 and $2,800 are not forty pounds apart in value if one bundles a website you do not own. The monthly number is comparable only once you know the initial term, the notice period and who owns the site at the end, which is why those three sit inside a twenty-point criterion on this site rather than in a footnote.

Sorted by contract model is the faster way to read this if the exit matters more to you than the monthly figure.
